After a day of prayer, my husband and I made the difficult decision to return to the States early from our first term as missionaries in South East Asia. We were expecting our first baby in four more months and with the pandemic hitting hard in our area, we knew it was wise to return. Since our return was so sudden, we didn’t know where we’d be living, how long we’d be gone, or what the next season would look like. One of the things we were most anxious about was how we were going to be able to afford having our baby since our insurance was set up for international care.
We knew that God saw our needs and that He would be faithful to provide, so we asked Him, through his grace, to provide a way. A friend explained More than Sparrows ministry to us, and I thought… “Wow! What an amazing, practical way to love others.” It sounded like a dream. The day that we received confirmation that More than Sparrows was able to help take care of our labor/delivery expenses, my husband and I both stopped dead silent and just started worshipping God. I couldn’t believe it!
God had provided for our specific needs through the generosity and passion of this amazing ministry. Because of More than Sparrows ministry, we didn’t have to stress over the finances of prenatal care (including an unexpected diagnosis), delivery, and baby. “More than Sparrows’” ministry will continue to be a reminder of God’s abundant faithfulness and provision.
