Melissa Haynes is an affiliate missionary with Africa Inland Mission. Along with her husband, Melissa served full-time with AIM for ten years working in Kenya, Africa. Melissa graduated from Asbury University. She holds both an undergraduate and Master's degree in Education. Melissa and her family currently live in the Triad area of North Carolina.
Vice Chairman
Though small of stature himself, Rev. Christopher E. Burcham has been privileged to spend his life proclaiming a God about Whom nothing is small! Since graduating from Bryan College with a degree in Biblical Studies in 1990 (going on to graduate work in Christian Ministries at Huntington University), Burcham has spent the past 26 years in vocational ministry #8212; both as a pastor and classroom teacher #8212; in Illinois, Florida, and North Carolina. He is currently in his 9th year of service as the Senior Pastor of Union Hill Baptist Church in Clemmons, NC.
Secretary
Connie Chandler is an ESL teacher and curriculum writer from Winston-Salem, NC. She has a MAT in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and loves to spend her time investing in and learning from international people, particularly refugee families who arrive in her hometown. She is passionate about sharing the "good news of great joy, which is for all people," and supporting Christian missionaries, both state-side and around the world.
Treasurer
Allyson, a CPA, is a graduate of Wake Forest University and has over 30 years of experience including corporate taxation, non-profit management, and SEC reporting. She is currently a Senior Vice-President at BB&T in Accounting and Financial Reporting for Commercial loans.
General Director
Lydia has been in ministry alongside her husband for 28 years as well as being a licensed minister herself. She is licensed as a professional counselor in both North Carolina and Virginia, where she currently lives with her husband and their eight year old son. Lydia has received specialty training in Life Coaching and enjoyed a coaching practice. She has worked in a variety of Christian nonprofit settings including her current work with a missions organization, Christian Aid Mission in Charlottesville, VA. Lydia has a heart for those in ministry who are experiencing difficulty and in need of support and practical assistance. She is excited to see the Lord bless many missionaries through the ministry of More Than Sparrows.
